Summary of what Carter had to do before being ready to embark on his excavation.

In 1922, the archaeologist Howard Carter discovered pharaoh tombs. However, before he could start the search, he had to make some arrangements. Firstly, he received financial support and a benefactor, Lord Carnarvon. Secondly, he visited the director of Antiquities to apply for a permit from the Egyptian Authorities. Next, he hired workers between October and April and also hired some guards to prevent robberies. Finally, he packed the supplies and shipped them to Luxor.
