Speed, Velocity, and Acceleration

Uniform Speed
- An object covers equal distances in equal intervals of time.

Non‑Uniform Speed
- An object covers unequal distances in equal intervals of time.

Uniform Velocity
- An object moves with uniform speed in the same direction.

Non‑Uniform Velocity
- An object changes its speed or direction while moving.

Key Notes on Velocity

- Two objects moving in opposite directions with the same speed have different velocities.
- Two objects moving in the same direction with the same speed have the same velocity.

Acceleration
- Defined as the rate of change of velocity.

Insight:

Speed tells us how fast an object moves, velocity adds direction to that speed, and acceleration explains how quickly velocity changes. Together, these concepts form the foundation of motion in physics.
