Important Notes  

- With avoir, the past participle usually does not agree with the subject.  

- With être, the past participle agrees in gender and number with the subject (e.g., elle est allée, ils sont allés).  

- Common être verbs include movement and state verbs (aller, arriver, monter, tomber, naître, mourir, devenir).
