Solids
1. Have a fixed shape, size, and volume.
2. Molecules are close together.
3. Very little intermolecular space.
4. Strong forces of attraction between molecules.
5. Not easily compressible.
6. Can change into liquids or gases when heated to high temperatures.
Liquids
1. Have a fixed volume but no fixed shape - they take the shape of the container.
2. Molecules are loosely held together.
3. Molecules are further apart compared with solids.
4. Weaker bonds between molecules.
5. Not easily compressible, but they flow easily.
6. Liquids become gases when heated and freeze when cooled.
Gases
1. Do not have a fixed shape or volume.
2. Molecules are far apart and in constant motion.
3. No fixed bonds, as molecules move freely.
4. Easily compressible and flows easily.
5. Can become liquid or solid when cooled.
