A Walk In The Wilderness

The Golden Hour:

I awoke at the crack of dawn and gazed delightfully at the golden sun that poured into my room. The Saturday morning that I had longed for all week was finally here. I quickly got dressed put on my boots and set off in my car to our trekking destination.

Me and a few of my friends had decided to go on a nature trek in the nearby woods.

Mingling About On The Trail:

As I reached the woods, I found my friends waving joyfully at me. They were all set with their cameras in their hands and picnic baskets dangling from their arms. I got out of the car and we started our trek.

At first, we only wandered on the woods' pathway. As we strolled along it, I couldn't help but admire the scenic beauty of nature.

The Wonderful Woods:

These woods were not too dense but not full of clear ground either. There were sloppy terrains that looked as though someone had laid a Veridian carpet over them; there were patches where untidy weeds conquered the grounds without leaving even the tiniest of gaps; trees that blocked every ray of sun; and sites where the ground was nothing but pebbles.

Nature's Secrets Disclosed:

As our trek commenced further, we hiked over large rocks and navigated our way through shrubs to venture deeper into the woods. The deeper we went, the more spectacles we saw.

There were tall trees where wild berries hung in bunches, bushes full of flowers sporting vivid shades of every color, and adorable parrots that spied on us in amusement.

The simple yet captivating charm the wilderness among us had was truly a fascinating sight. It really helped me realize why we should be so grateful for it.

Still Trekking:

Hours passed by, and we were still trekking in the woods. Drenched in sweat, we were all awfully tired and hungry too. All we needed was a quiet place where we could devour the food that we had in our picnic baskets. Surely, there had to be someplace in this immense wilderness where we could sit in serenity?

The Mysterious Stariway:

And, to our luck, we did! (But just not as we had expected though).

Over a lush green hedge, we noticed a flight of stone steps leading to a small hill. The stone steps were so discrete, that we were sure they must have gone unnoticed by any visitors. Out of curiosity, we decided to go up the stairs to explore where they led.

As we ascended the hill, we could hear the splashing of water at a distance. Certainly, there couldn't be a waterfall that the steps led to? We immediately picked up our pace and hurried up the steps.

Time For A Break:

And to our astonishment, a magnificent waterfall ran down the hill, with its crystal-clear water gleaming in the sun. We all took out our cameras and snapped away at this miracle. After a few minutes, our excitement had started to fade away replaced by some considerable amount of hunger. So we decided to set up a little picnic beside the enormous waterfall. It was a scrumptious meal. We had delicious fruits, some cookies and some mouthwatering chocolates.

Don't Want To Bid Adieu:

After we were all done eating, we decided to end our trip, though we would always crave to return to this picturesque destination. It was a pain leaving these woods knowing that it would be a long time before we were reunited. But we were all pretty tired and required some rest. As we viewed a rushing stream the sun was setting and it was time to depart - to say goodbye to this wonderful creation of nature.
