Speech: Where do you live?

 Respected teacher and my dear friends,

I am here to tell you something exciting about the place of my residence. I live in an apartment (or a skyscraper) named Ananda. It is a 24-floor storey building. It is located in Kastur Park. The view is great. We have a beautiful terrace with potted plants and comfortable sofas, where the members can relax enjoying the scenic beauty.

But unfortunately, it is surrounded by a slum colony, which is somehow sore to the eyes. Though we live in comfort, I need to think of my less fortunate countrymen, the slum dwellers. The people living in slums have their arguments in a loud tone creating a nuisance. There is wife battering and this is a very pitiable sight. Perhaps, they behave in such a manner as they are illiterate and have no guidance. It could also be due to extreme poverty. These issues can be solved if they are given a helping hand.

The richest man and the owner of Microsoft is Bill Gates. He has a golden heart and he donates 40% of his earnings to charity. I would love to be like him and purchase ration and clothes, from my pocket money, and share it with the needy, slum dwellers. I would also want to help their kids with academics, during my leisure hours. In this manner, I would be doing social service.

I prefer living in the countryside as the place is calm and is not as noisy as the town. The countryside would appeal to me because of the lush green valleys, with pleasant weather and fresh air. The sounds of the birds chirping and gurgling of the clear, blue stream would be soothing to the ears. The rising and the setting of the sun would be a mesmerizing view. I am sure I would love the fragrance of the pure soil. The peace and tranquillity of nature would complete my dream place. Walking barefoot along the glorious fields would make me healthier and stronger to face life.
