1er groupe (‑er verbs)

2ème groupe (‑ir verbs, type finir)  

- Je + radical + issais

Quick tip:  

- The radical is the verb stem taken from the nous form in the present tense (e.g., nous parlons → radical = parl- → je parlais).  

- The endings are the same for almost all verbs, except irregular ones like être (j’étais, tu étais, etc.).
