Continents are large, continuous landmasses, ideally separated by expanses of water:
- Asia
- Europe
- Africa
- Australia
- Antarctica
- South America
- North America

- Arctic Ocean
- Atlantic Ocean
- Pacific Ocean
- Indian Ocean
- Southern Ocean
Hemispheres
- Anything south of the equator lies in the Southern Hemisphere.
- Anything north of the equator lies in the Northern Hemisphere.
- North Pole: 90° N
- South Pole: 90° S
- Prime Meridian (0° longitude): Runs through Greenwich, London.
- East of Prime Meridian → Eastern Hemisphere
- West of Prime Meridian → Western Hemisphere
Imaginary Lines for Location
- Equator: An imaginary line circling the middle of the Earth, dividing it into Northern and Southern Hemispheres.
- Latitude: Lines running parallel to the equator, used to measure how far north or south a place is.
- Longitude: Lines running from pole to pole, used to measure how far east or west a place is.
- Prime Meridian: The 0° longitude line, separating the Earth into Eastern and Western Hemispheres.
