Illusion Art

Optical illusion art traces its origins to the French technique known as trompe-l'œil, meaning trick of the eye. Our beliefs are often influenced by what we perceive, but perception itself can be shaped by our beliefs. This artistic style deliberately exploits the quirks of human perception, our eyes' remarkable ability to deceive the brain. Through skilful manipulation of patterns, shapes, colours, materials, and forms, artists craft works that deceive and challenge our visual understanding.
