Physics Unit 1: Kinematics Notes

Displacement is a vector. Vectors can be combined using vector addition.

When joining 2 vectors, first decide an appropriate scale, next align the vectors head-to-tail, then draw the resultant vector from the tail of the first vector to the head of the last vector. The answer should be given with both magnitude and direction.

To subtract vectors, add the vector to be subtracted in the opposite direction.

A vector triangle is a vector drawn to determine the resultant of 2 vectors.
