 1. Define Tesla [3]

Ans: For a long straight wire carrying a current of 1 A. The wire length is normal to the magnetic field, and the force per unit length is 1 N/m; then the flux density is 1 Tesla.


2. State and explain the direction of force on the wire due to the current. [3]

Ans: Since the change in mass increases, the magnet experiences a downward force. Hence, a wire experiences an upward force in accordance with Newton's Third Law.
