Describe your surroundings on a safari expedition and give your thoughts and feelings about being in this setting.

Safari Expedition

6 o'clock in the early morning the weather was normal. The sun had not even been raised up in the sky. There was a moment of fresh air rushing through my face. The temperature was bitterly hot, somewhat around 27 degrees Celsius. As we moved into the dense forest, some bits of dried leaves came running towards my eyes. The cold winds gradually splashed onto my body. The temperature fell to 14 degrees Celsius, making me feel that I had entered a forest in the Arctic, but that was just an imaginative thought in my mind.

We were in Corbett Tiger Jeep Safari located in Uttarakhand, to experience tigers in their surroundings. As we rushed inside the deeper part of the forest we weren't able to view any tigers at that moment. We hoped to see them later when we came back to the end of the safari on this same route. There was a tiger point too, but we weren't allowed to step out of the vehicle for a picture.

Our guide gave us an informational tour of the names and popularity/rare species of wild animals that we saw on the way. He used to stop the vehicle for 2 minutes so that we could click photos of these creatures. In the start, we saw elephants, giraffes, and deer. We waited on the bridge, to spot an animal who was drinking water from the pond. There were huge families of deer staying by. We saw many types of alligators such as monitor alligators. The monitor alligator is tall and looks like a crocodile. He dances with his tail to move forward. I liked the way he danced! Seeing these huge animals near me, gave me big chills as if they would harm me. The baby elephant was enjoying a bath with its family. He was very cute. I wish I could carry him home. There were trees cut, just the bark of the tree till the root was kept for the snakes to stay or live inside it. It was a creepy one. The tigers seemed to disappear from the forest.

There was greenery everywhere. Most of the forest looked like a messy place, that wasn't cleaned for years. It's difficult to clean these places because any wild animal may assume that we are here to harm their kids and so they may hunt us down. There was very little water available here, which was insufficient for all the animals. The dam, near the forest, which used to release water to the jungle, had already dried up. There was no way to keep these animals safe from extinction. All the animals present here were non-vegetarian (omnivorous) and used to receive their meals daily. The ones, who were pure vegetarian (herbivorous) used to eat, the evergreen trees of the forest.

There was a place to stay inside the jungle. There were no lights, and no fans, which meant no electricity. And when you try to sleep during the night you would stay awake due to the creaky roaring of tigers. You could only eat bread omelette or a vegetable Maggi with tea or coffee. You couldn't eat/drink both at the canteen. The washrooms were dirty, uncleaned, and stinky. Many lazy monkeys stayed nearby. If you forget something expensive, it used to disappear in 3 seconds. You were required to have guns and revolvers with you, to protect yourselves from these harmful creatures.

There were 2 types of vehicles suitable for the ride. One was Canter Safari, it was a bus, that had large windows. There were many seats approximately 15-16 seats in a canter bus. It was covered and protected the people safely. The second one was Jeep Safari, which I took. Only 2 to 4 people could sit. It was totally open. In this package, we were given a vehicle with a driver, a guide and an expert, who could knock down the animals to save us.

Outside the Jungle was a 3-dimensional movie about tigers for kids. And a museum suitable for all age groups. It had a tiger's fur and skeleton stored in a transparent glass box. These weren't killed, they died due to health issues and this information was noted down.

Overall, the safari gave me great enjoyment. I wasn't satisfied that I couldn't see any tigers at the moment. I could say that it was just a normal safari, but I hoped to be back to experience it again!
