I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the River Nile Cruise that was arranged for my family and me from September 10th to September 17th, 2021. Despite our specific request for a luxurious cruise with top-notch service, the cruise provided fell short of our expectations and did not meet the promised standards.
During the cruise, our guide shared several fascinating facts about the Nile River that were previously unknown to me. For instance, it is utilized by 67 million Egyptians, and during the flood season in July, residents relocate to higher ground for nearly three months. The Nile stretches over 7,000 kilometers from Uganda’s forests to Cairo and is home to dangerous wildlife, including crocodiles, making it a hazardous environment due to its muddy and contaminated waters.
Local residents shared their beliefs, including the notion that mystical forces in the river’s mud generate snakes and the historical reference to Queen Cleopatra as the ‘Serpent of the old Nile.’
Regrettably, based on our experience, I cannot endorse this cruise to others. I am requesting a full refund as the services provided did not justify the expense. The lack of quality service, particularly the unsanitary and unsafe conditions of the toilets, which included the presence of crocodiles, made this the most disappointing trip we have ever taken.
