Receiving Awards
3rd December 2023 By Yashvi Gavankar
At Witty School, there's been a debate on giving appreciation prices to hardworking students. Prizes are often awarded in the form of cash or certificates.
To begin with, prizes are given to the pupils, who put all their efforts into winning the competition. Every student wishes to be better than the others. The students who have received prizes feel as if they are at the top of the world.
Additionally, there's a rat race among the students to be the winner. The one who stands second or loses tries his/her best to be the first winner. Sometimes prizes are given to the bright students, which are highly recognized and leave other students feeling lost. There are some cases where parents bribe the judges so that their child wins.
In my opinion, all participants should either receive positive feedback on the report card or appreciation notes. There should be no difference between the intelligent and not-so-intelligent students. I believe there's no need to win, the competition should be all about learning and enjoying. Teachers should always guide and motivate the kids.
